Der jüngste Sohn des Herzogs Moritz von Sachsen-Zeitz begründete die Zeitzer Seitenlinie Sachsen-Neustadt. Deren Geschichte endete bereits mit Friedrich Heinrichs Tod.
Sein Totenbildnis ist das jüngste in der Zeitzer Sammlung.
