Description

G. Morghen fertigte das Porträt des Altertumsforschers, Malers und Hofrats Johann Friedrich Reiffenstein (1719-1793) nach einem Gemälde von Ludwig Guttenbrunn (1750-1819) an.

Reiffenstein kam als Reisebegleiter des Sohnes des Grafen Rochus zu Lynar 1763 nach Rom und traf dort Winckelmann, der ihn zum Bleiben in der Stadt überzeugte.
