Nach 1945 fand August Bratfisch in Wanzleben seine neue Heimat. Stadt und Umgebung hielt er in zahlreichen Aquarellen und Zeichnungen fest.
Hier ein undatiertes Aquarell einer Feld- und Wiesenlandschaft mit einem abgeernteten Getreidefeld rechts und Baumreihen links, im Hintergrund rechts die Silhouette eines Dorfes unter dunklen Wolken.
