Description

Jaspis ist eine mikrokristalline Varietät des Quarzes und gehört zur Mineralklasse der Oxide. Er kristallisiert im trigonalen Kristallsystem, kann alle Farben annehmen und wird ausschließlich zu Schmucksteinen verarbeitet.

Das geschliffene Handstück ist dunkelrot bis schwarz und weist an einigen Stellen leuchtend rote Flecken auf. Durch die polierte Oberfläche glänzen manche schwarze Areale sehr stark.
