Diese Medaille entstand anlässlich der Huldigung des Fürstentums Halberstadt bei Amtsantritt Königs Friedrich Wilhelm II. von Preußen (1744-1797) am 24. Oktober 1786. Modelliert wurde die Medaille von Abraham Abramson (1752-1811), einem der bedeutendsten deutschen Medailleure und Vertreter des Klassizismus. (C. Heinevetter)
