1894 wurde die Axt dem Grundsitzer Pasemann aus Hanum durch den Salzwedeler Geschichtsverein abgekauft. Pasemann hatte das Stück bei Feldarbeiten gefunden. Es handelt sich um eine gelbgrüne Doppelaxt-Bootaxt. Sie ist sehr aufwändig gearbeitet und besitzt ein rhombisches Profil mit herabgezogener Schneide und herabgezogenem Nacken. Die "Nackenschneide" ist beidseitig halbkreisförmig abgesetzt. Ober- und Unterseite sind jeweils um das Schaftloch herum rhombenförmig ausgeschliffen, dadurch entstanden umlaufende Ränder. In der Mitte des Schaftloches befindet sich ein senkrechter profilierter Steg.
