Bei dem nach rechts gewendeten weiblichen Rückenakt handelt es sich um eine Studie zu dem seit Kriegsende im April 1945 verschollenen Gemälde »Im Paradies« von 1897. Das in Rom geschaffene Gemälde gehörte zum Altbestand der Kunstsammlungen des Kaiser Friedrich Museums Magdeburg (heute Kulturhistorisches Museum).
