Der Jurist Christian Ludwig Stubenrauch (1758-1844) war Mitglied der "Literarischen Gesellschaft" in Halberstadt, 1841 wurde er einer der beiden Direktoren der Gleim’schen Familienstiftung. Schöner hielt sich in den Jahren um 1800 mehrfach bzw. längere Zeit in Halberstadt auf, war hier später auch ansässig. Das Porträt Stubenrauchs gelangte erst im 20.
