Der etwa 21,5 cm hohe, birnenförmige Fayencekrug ist auf der Wandung mit einer sitzenden Figur und abstrakt wirkendem Pflanzendekor in Blaumalerei verziert. Er steht auf einem Zinnfuß. Der am Henkel anmontierte Deckel kann mit einer kugelförmigen Daumenrast geöffnet werden. Der im letzten Viertel des 18. Jahrhunderts vermutlich in Hanau hergestellte Birnkrug greift die damalige Chinoiserie-Mode auf. Dabei wurden gerne chinesische bzw. ostasiatische Szenen, wie Lanschafts- und Architekturdarstellungen als Vorbilder genommen, um sie besonders in der Fayence- und Porzellanmalerei motivisch umzusetzen.
