Sachaufnahmen und Porträtfotografien bildet in Heinrich Kochs Schaffen ein eigenständiges Konvolut. Die Porträtierten stammen häufig aus Kochs unmittelbarem Bekanntenkreis. Besonders seine Porträts zeichnen sich durch ihren engen Bildausschnitt, Einfachheit und Natürlichkeit als Ästhetik der Neuen Sachlichkeit aus. Die Fotografie wirkt durch den engen Bildausschnitt und der Perspektive von unten sehr inszeniert. Das lediglich der Kopf und die Halspartie aufgenommen wurde reiht sich in Kochs typischen Bildausschnitt seiner Porträts ein. Auf dieser Fotografie ist ein junge Frau fast frontal zu sehen.
