Description

In ihren frühen Studienjahren schuf Christa Sammler wiederholt Selbstporträts. Bereits 1949, noch vor ihrem Studium an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden, als sie noch Zeichenuntericht bei Alfred Herzog in Bautzen nahm, entstand eine Sandsteinbüste. Bei der Skulptur sind das Gesicht und der Hals aus der Bosse klar herausgearbeitet, ohne das die Oberfläche bis ins Detail durchgearbeite wurde.
