Description

Palitzsch, Johann Georg (1723-1788), Landwirt, Astronom, Naturkunde-Sammler.

Hüftbild nach rechts vor Tisch als Gemälde in Mauernische auf Steinsockel mit Attributen von Landwirtschaft und Astronomie. Vorn am Sockel Schrifttafel mit Inschrift.
Bez.: Ant. Graff pinx. // Schenau ornavit // C. G. Schulze scul. anno 1782.

Vorlage: Halbfigur nach rechts, entstanden wohl um 1775, Staatlicher mathematisch-physikalischer Salon Dresden (Berckenhagen Nr. 1070)

Für das überaus aufwendige und hierin für die Aufklärung untypische Rahmen-Arrangement arbeitete Schulze nach einem Entwurf des vielseitigen Malers und Co-Direktors der Dresdener Kunstakademie Johann Eleazar Zeissig, genannt Schenau (1737-1806).
